Ae Sarzameen-e-Pakistan by Jagan Nath Azad

By Umer Sultan

Professor Jagan Nath Azad was the first one to write the National Anthem of Pakistan after the independence of Pakistan in 1947. Mr. Azad was specially requested by his friend Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to write the first National Anthem.

Professor Jagan Nath Azad, although he was a Hindu, always loved Pakistan. He stayed in Pakistan for a while after the independence and then moved to India. Half a century later, he recalled Pakistan in good words and showed his love for Pakistan. Quaid-e-Azam and Jagan Azad were good friends and Jagan Nath Azad had the honor to write the first Anthem of Pakistan.

Below is a glimpse of that short beautiful Anthem.
