The basis of Islam is Justice and Equity, not Injustice, Extremism and Terrorism: said Saudi Grand Mufti at Hajj Sermon

The Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Sheikh, made it clear once and for all that Religious Scholars (Ulema) of Islam have been and are against extremism and terrorism.

Delivery the Hajj sermon in the Nimra Mosque (Masjid Nimra) at the Mount Arafat, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Sheikh clearly said:

Islam is based on Justice and equity, in which there is no room for oppression, extremism and terrorism. [Columnpk.com]

Sheikh Abdul Aziz reminded that Islam is not a theoretical religion; instead, it is a practical Deen (code of conduct). He said “Allah Almighty endowed us with hosts of blessings and boons, guidance of Islam is one of them.” He told Muslims to be proud of their Deen and that they should not be ashamed of it in public, a reminder that the Muslim youth desperately needs in the West, as well as in the East.

The Grand Mufti said Allah sent the Last and Final Prophet (peace be upon him) with complete code of conduct and this (shariah) is in harmony with human nature, as it caters to all man’s natural and material needs.

Reminding Muslims about the key role of the Last Messenger of God, Sheikh Abdul Aziz said that Prophet Muhammad was sent as the Rahmatul-lil-Alameen (Mercy onto the worlds) and thus Islam will always be kind and merciful.

Addressing to the West, he asked how come the upholders of the human rights ignore those states that occupy foreign lands and push the native people into the diaspora. I think he was referring to the complete freedom of occupation, exploitation and terrorism by the State of Israel on the natives since its inception of the State of Israel in 1948.

While Sheikh Abdul Aziz condemned extremism, he reminded Muslims that the Muslim societies have become plagued with unlawful practices. This reminder should hit home for many because we can see the results of this in the Muslim societies. Our societies have become decadent, and failed to provide the rights of people that Islam clearly commands, for example, right of men and women to have quality education; security of life, honor and property of every single person in its boundaries.

Regarding the economics he said:

Islam forbids markup altogether and prohibits extravagance, as it is a religion of moderation, he said. Grand Mufti stressed Islam intensely condemns terrorism and extremism, and that it warns strict punishment for those who unjustifiably spill blood and spread mischief on earth. [The Peninsula]

He also said something beautiful and I end this post with that!

Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh said Allah Almighty conferred men with reason and consciousness so that he can differentiate between good and bad. We should respect each other. [Paktribune]

    Great article.

Religion is, and always has been, about peace and humanity. Imagine where we would be without “Thou shalt not kill”!
