Religion of the Mongols

We know a lot about Mongols.

Muslims see it as the dark chapter in their history- destruction of Baghdad, destruction of the libraries and Muslim civilization, destruction of Samarkand, Basra, and many other great cities of Persia and present day Afghanistan. Never ending hordes of horses. Barbaric warriors that would not stop for rest and meal and when thirsty would stab a horse and drink its blood. Inhuman humans, who would butcher even women and children and then would compete with skull mountains!

Europeans see Mongols as a powerful force that knocked at the door steps of Europe. A military power that took over Eastern European states. A power that could not be defeated.

No Humanity Left! :(

War from NewNews.co.uk

Earth is beautiful but we have ravaged it with our pathetic conflicts and wars for controlling resources. It has more than enough to sustain all living beings on it, yet millions of humans starve and many die. Mankind is puffed up with its technological development but it forgets that it has little to no humanity left !!!

Does it not bother us that our neighbor-whether in our neighbor hood, or in our neighbor town, city, state, or country have little to no food to eat. Thousands of children are malnourished, many die with hunger. Does it not bother us that we fight over water even though water comprises of majority of the earth? We care about making profit even in supplying water! Countries go to war over rivers, mountains, and man-made boundaries.

Governments wage foolish wars, empty the state treasury while getting in debt. No education for the masses, no healthcare for the people, but skyrocketing budgets for the ministry/department of defense. No food on the table of thousands of families, no affordable quality education for the middle and “poor” class but tons of budget for a new defensive gadget called Nukes.

How to Win a Cosmic War by Reza Aslan

“How to Win a Cosmic War: God, Globalization, and the End of the War on Terror” by Reza Aslan, is one of the best books I read on current events lately. It talks about the War on Terror and the Radicals and Extremists ideology/movements among Christians, Jews and Muslims.

Cosmic War?

I was asked what is this Cosmic War, and while I was writing this my friend asked me the same question. So what is Cosmic War, the author describes it in detail through out his book and I will try to summarize it in a paragraph or two:

A cosmic war is a religious war. It is a conflict in which God is believed to be directly engaged on one side over the other. Unlike a holy war–an earthly battle between rival religious groups–a cosmic war is like a ritual drama in which participants act out on earth a battle they believe is actually taking place in the heavens…

A cosmic war transforms those who should be considered butchers and thugs into soldiers sanctioned by God. It turns victims into sacrifices and justifies the most depraved acts of destruction because it does not abide by human conceptions of morality…

A cosmic war partitions the world into black and white, good and evil, us and them. In such a war, there is no middle ground; everyone must choose a side. Soldier and civilian, combatant and noncombatant, aggressor and bystander–all the traditional divisions that serve as markers in a real war break down in cosmic wars. It is a simple equations: if you are not us, you must be them. If you are them, you are the enemy and must be destroyed.

Do’nt think deep into the personality of God: Shah Waliullah Muhaddis Dehlavi’s Ta’wil al-Ahadith

Below is the script taken from Shah Waliullah Muhaddis Dehlavi‘s Ta’wil al-Ahadith:

“It may be remembered that the Prophet has not allowed us to think over the person (Dhat) of God, but on the contrary, he has prohibited us from that, as he has said: “Do not think over the person of God” ; “There should be no thinking over God.”

Now Fighting ON the Name of God: Malaysia’s Ban on Christians using “Allah” for God! Why such conflict?

The debate over Malaysian Christians using the word “Allah” for God is in the court and on the streets of Malaysia. In the starting of this year, Malaysian court over ruled the 2007 ban on Malaysian Christians from using the word “Allah” when translating their Christian English Newspaper (or magazine) Herald to Malaysian languages and using “Allah” for God in the Bible Translations. After 3-4 days of overrule by the court, the Home Ministry of Malaysia appealed the court’s decision.  The public uproar and worst, the sad result of 9 Churches either being burned, or cocktail bombed is just pathetic.

So what is this issue of “Allah,” why some Malaysian Muslims are claiming that Allah is a “Muslim God”, and why Malaysian Christians want to use the word “Allah” for God??? It is necessary to understand the importance of the word “Allah,” its understanding in Islam; and the Malaysian history regarding Christians and Muslims and the way this debate has become a point of tension.
