:: Give us the good of this world and the next ::
Narrated by Anas (radiAllahu anhu):
The Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to say:
“اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ “
“O God, give us all the good of this world, and the good of the life hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the fire.”
[Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 65 “Tafseer of the Prophet”, Hadith 4563]

Abu Hurairah reports Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:
Each joint in the body has a sadaqah that is mandatory upon it every day that the sun rises: to act justly between two (people) is sadaqah, to help a man (person) up on his riding animal or lift his stuff up onto it for him is sadaqah, the good/kind word is sadaqah, and with every step you walk to the masjid is a sadaqah, and to pick up a harmful item from the middle of the path/street is sadaqah.
(Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
These are easy good deeds and also shows the good character of the person doing these easy charities. Moreover, these little acts of goodness make things around one good. It can make other smile, which is also a Sadaqa. [Umer Sultan]
