Islamophobia is rising at a very alarming rate in the West and in particular the United States. Niqab bans and Minaret bans in Europe aside, and ignore recent ‘Draw Muhammad Day‘ campaign, there are news and events that do not make it to the global scale or even national level. That, however, does not mean that it can be ignored.
Allow me to provide you with these links. Dates might not be the exact day of incident as I got it from the earliest mentioning online site. Sit tight, hold your hearts for the time has come to keep your naive minds aside:-
Dan Finelli Ad: (on May 5th 2010) Mr Dan Finelli is a Florida Republican, new to the field of Politics. He is running for the 8th District seat and he ran 3 ‘bold’ actually racist and Islamophobe campaign ads. Showing brown person as a terrorist and a white man as a peaceful person! Mr. Finelli showed his ignorance by refusing to acknowledge that the suicide plane attack on an IRS facility in Texas, the shooting of Pentagon guards and the Christian militia plot to kill police officers (arrested in Michigan) were by “Whites.” DON”T STOP here! There is more below!!!

The Governor Jennifer Granholm of the US state of Michigan, has declared May 15 as the Michigan Mosque Open House day to recognize and appreciate the presence and diversity that that Michigan Muslims bring to the state and the talents that this diverse community contributes.
“‘The state of Michigan is proud of its cultural diversity and welcomes the opportunity to recognize our Muslim neighbors for their commitment to leadership, dedication to knowledge, and for their rich and fascinating heritage.
Muslims are part of the diverse fabric of the state of Michigan, contributing much to our state with their talents and hard work. I encourage the citizens of this state to learn more about the history of our Muslim residents and their many contributions to our state.” said the Governor.
The MI Mosque Open House day is organized by the Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan (CIOM). All the mosques in the state will be open for anyone. The citizens of Michigan and the organizations are invited to pay visit to the community Masjid (Mosque) and learn about the Muslims, their religion and culture. NEW YORK (AP) – Americans are more than twice as likely to express prejudice against Muslims than they are against Christians, Jews or Buddhists, a new survey found. Nearly two-thirds of Americans say they have little or no knowledge of Islam. Still, a majority dislike the faith.
The debate over Malaysian Christians using the word “Allah” for God is in the court and on the streets of Malaysia. In the starting of this year, Malaysian court over ruled the 2007 ban on Malaysian Christians from using the word “Allah” when translating their Christian English Newspaper (or magazine) Herald to Malaysian languages and using “Allah” for God in the Bible Translations. After 3-4 days of overrule by the court, the Home Ministry of Malaysia appealed the court’s decision. The public uproar and worst, the sad result of 9 Churches either being burned, or cocktail bombed is just pathetic.
So what is this issue of “Allah,” why some Malaysian Muslims are claiming that Allah is a “Muslim God”, and why Malaysian Christians want to use the word “Allah” for God??? It is necessary to understand the importance of the word “Allah,” its understanding in Islam; and the Malaysian history regarding Christians and Muslims and the way this debate has become a point of tension.
