Israel Battles Gaza Flotilla on Two Fronts (via Wallwritings)

Great read on the current situation of the US Boat to Gaza “The Audacity of Hope.”

Israel Battles Gaza Flotilla on Two Fronts By James M. Wall A year ago, the Israeli Defense Force handed Israel one of its worst media defeats in modern history. Israeli commandos, filled with their government’s propaganda that Israel’s security was at stake, landed on the Turkish ship Mavi Marmara, ready for battle and determined to keep the ship from breaking Israel’s control over Gaza’s shores. Nine Turkish citizens were killed, one of whom was a Turkish-American. This year Israel took … Read More

Freedom Flotilla Activist denies “Terrorist” Tag of Israel

Israel and its lobby, in order to crush the global uproar against its illegal commando operation on Freedom Flotilla, has started referring to the activists on board Marvi Marmara as “Terrorists.” As much insane this may sound to the general public, here the activists gives a much clearer picture (prepare to face his boldness):

Note: There is a Jewish Flotilla scheduled for July to break the inhuman Israeli siege of Gaza.

Jewish Flotilla to Break Gaza Siege!!! While Hamas refuses to take Aid from Israel and waits for Turkey’s Green Light!!!

The German-Jewish organization Jewish Voice for Peace in the Middle East is preparing a Jewish flotilla to the Gaza Strip. “We intend to leave around July,” a member of the organization, Kate Leitrer, said to Ynet. “We have one small craft so far, in which there will be between 12 and 16 people, mostly Jews.”

Leitrer, herself Jewish, said there was great interest in joining. “Getting another boat means more expenses, and we’re discussing this possibility,” she said. “Because of limited space, there will be school equipment, candy, and mainly musical equipment, and there’ll be musicians aboard who’ll teach the children of Gaza. They need to see that Jews are not what how they are drawn in their eyes.”

Leitrer also claimed that Israel acted criminally in its lethal raid on the Gaza flotilla last Monday.

“The head of UNRRA (United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration) appealed to the world to send ships due to the shortage of important supplies in Gaza,” she said. “By stopping the flotilla, Israel acted criminally. Israel must not act like pirates.”

Freedom Flotilla: Humanitarian Aid to Gaza is a Sin and Crime against God

By Umer Sultan

Source: FB Page "Wake Up Muslims"

Israel attacked the aid ship directed towards Gaza, leaving about 19 people dead and 60 wounded. The Israeli Defense Forces used live ammunition on the ship at the unarmed solidarity activists, mostly from Turkey.

The stormed ship (Mavi Marmara) was leading five other aid ships and had solidarity activists, aid leaders, and journalist from different countries aboard. At this moment there is no news as to who is dead and wounded. 2 Pakistani journalists [video] are among those missing and one of them is Talat Hussein from Pakistani AAJ TV, a very critical, outspoken and respected journalist in Pakistan.

Turkey, the long friend of Israel got really ticked off at the military strike by Israel and has pulled Turkish ambassador from Israel. Turkey has also threatened Israel, even with a possibility that Turkey will send more aid ships with the escort of Turkish Navy…you know what that could mean right! Greece has cancelled its joint military exercise. Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan said:

“It should be known that we will not stay silent and unresponsive in the face of this inhuman state terror,” Press TV.

President Obama has only this to say:

Gaza: Human beings literally drown in shit!

“I wanted to visit the ruined village of Um al-Nasr, in northern Gaza, some miles away from lush Tel Aviv. A few months earlier, a number of villagers, including two toddlers, had drowned in what the press was calling a “sewage tsunami.” The deluge had been triggered by the collapse of a treatment facility just above the village that had been slowly and steadily leaking sewage. For months the villages of Um al-Nasr had pleaded with Israeli authorities to allow the importation of the pumps, pipes, and filters necessary to stem the flow. But Israel, rattled by a ceaseless barrage of crudely constructed rockets launched daily from Gaza, some of which were—in short of grim irony that can exist only in such a place—constructed from old sewage pipes, refused.

The villagers built an earthen embankment around what was fast becoming a giant lake of human waste. But the embankment would not hold. On the morning of March 27, 2007, while most of the villagers of Um al-Nasr slept, the embankment gave way. The village was inundated.

This is what we talk about when we talk about Gaza: that human beings—men, women, children—could literally drown in shit.”

Rajmohan Gandhi

GAZA — The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Tuesday barred Rajmohan Gandhi, the grandson of Indian independence leader Mahatma Gandhi, from entering Gaza Strip.

Results Of Simulated Israeli Strike On Iran! and the left out role of Pakistan

By Umer Sultan

The National Public Radio (NPR news) ran a program on the Talk of the Nation about the Results of the Simulated Israeli Strike on Iran by the Saban Center for Middle East Policy (SCMEP), studied by Kenneth Pollack.

The official details of the simulation can be read here. The NPR program can be listen/ read here.

In brief there were 3 players of the simulation–America, Israel & Iran. The SCMEP had the players reflecting the currect policies of the US and Israeli governments. The simulation time was 8 days, in which Israel attacked the Nuclear facility of Iran without asking or notifying the United States in advance. After the attacks, the US was told by the Israel that this favor has been done by Israel and that US should help Israel in regards to this. The United States was first angry and then tried to keep Israel aside from the scene and tried to control the situation from getting any worse.

Iran, on the other hand, responded by attacking Israel, while Israel started getting hit my rockets from Lebanon and Gaza. Israel had to send a major land military offensive in order to invade Lebanon and Gaza to stop the rockets. By the end of the simulation (8th day) Iran was mining the Straight of Hormuz, Israel was in the middle of the major land offensive, Saudi Arabia got hit by Iran as well (they didn’t believe that Saudi Arabia had nothing to do with this), Syria was supporting Iran but didn’t know what to do of this sudden nuclear exchange…

Pakistan left out:

“US Media and Israel Military, All in the Family” by Alison Weir of If Americans Knew

By Alison Weir, Sabbah Report

[Alison Weir is executive director of If Americans Knew, which provides information and media analysis on Israel-Palestine]

I don't own the Picture

Recent exposés revealing that Ethan Bronner, the New York Times Israel-Palestine bureau chief, has a son in the Israeli military have caused a storm of controversy that continues to swirl and generate further revelations.

Many people find such a sign of family partisanship in an editor covering a foreign conflict troubling especially given the Times’ record of Israel-centric journalism.

Times management at first refused to confirm Bronner’s situation, then refused to comment on it. Finally, public outcry forced Times Public Editor Clark Hoyt to confront the problem in a February 7th column.

After bending over backwards to praise the institution that employs him, Hoyt ultimately opined that Bronner should be re-assigned to a different sphere of reporting to avoid the “appearance” of bias. Times Editor Bill Keller declined to do so, however, instead writing a column calling Bronner’s connections to Israel valuable because they “supply a measure of sophistication about Israel and its adversaries that someone with no connections would lack.”
